How this term went

Alex started the term at a grade 4 and has moved to a confident 7 on the last two mock papers. The biggest jump came from fixing a recurring careless-error pattern in algebraic manipulation, once we spotted it was showing up across three different topics, we built it into every session's warm-up until it stopped happening.

What we focused on

  • Quadratic functions, ranked as ~20% of the paper by exam-board weighting
  • Simultaneous equations, cleared 4 flagged theory cards to "confident"
  • Non-calculator arithmetic speed, timed drills each session

Going into next term

We're shifting focus to trigonometry and statistics, both flagged as high-weighting and currently unreviewed in the portal. Home practice is two 20-minute flashcard sessions a week, Alex can see exactly which cards are due in their own portal login.
